Showcasing New Campaigns from Our Portfolio – Norton Point

We’re proud to always take new ideas to our clients that go beyond expectations and deliver a creative solution with impactful results. Here is one example of work we created and launched for Norton Point.

The Challenge

Norton Point, a vibrant sunglass design and manufacture based in Martha’s Vineyard, came to Ideas Collide to partner on an exciting new innovation in the sourcing and production of their sunglasses. Their new innovative approach: source from millions of pounds of recovered ocean plastic to make stylish and sustainable sunglasses.

This innovation would be the first step in removing the 8 million metric tons of plastic in our oceans. To launch the initiative, the entrepreneurs behind Norton Point decided to utilize Kickstarter to secure the funding needed to make it a reality.  The challenge: creating awareness for the Kickstarter campaign so that they can get these new, innovative sunglasses off the ground and into production.

Our Strategy & Execution

norton 2The Ideas Collide team jumped in and quickly became part of the Norton Point team, strategizing, planning and creating a compelling marketing campaign to bring attention and donations to the Kickstarter project.

The first and most important step was diving deep into research and gaining insights using social media listening tools. Through this effort Ideas Collide was able to develop a smart, targeted messaging strategy that would resonate and align with the target audience.

With research and messaging in place, the team focused on creating creative imagery and informative content such as infographics and custom built social graphics to further support and draw attention to the initiative.  These visual elements enriched the story behind the campaign to ensured it would resonate with everyone in a meaningful and authentic way.

Results

Through these collaborative and strategic efforts, Ideas Collide was able to successfully launch Norton Point’s “Sea Plastic Differently” campaign via Kickstarter on World Ocean’s Day and succeeded in helping raise over $55,000 in seed money for this important, sustainable project. With these impactful results, Ideas Collide can’t wait to continue to assist Norton Point in taking their innovative sunglasses to mass market and supporting their cause to save the oceans.
